Teacher BioAfter teaching Art for 13 years, I came to Athens Drive in the Fall of 2011. I have had experience teaching elementary, middle and high school students and have enjoyed aspects of all age groups. I also taught three years of Art and English Literature in Ghana,West Africa through the Peace Corps to SSS (high school) students. I lived and worked in a small farm town (Dzodze) near the border of Togo within the Volta Region. I cherish these experiences and have since placed an even higher value on the benefits of diversity, collaboration and making a difference in people's lives. Teaching provides me with opportunities every day to practice what I value. I attended Peace College for two years then graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1993 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I later completed my teacher certification at UNC Charlotte. I live in Cary with my husband, Keith and young son, Lance. I enjoy creating art, reading and spending time outdoors.
